Pine Tar Artisan Soap

Pine Tar is a wonderful soap for problematic skin.  Pine tar is known to help with eczema and psoriasis, as well as other skin conditions such as acne, dry skin and poison ivy.  (Note:  this is not a medical claim.)  In addition to pure pine tar, this soap also includes colloidal oats. 

This soap is scented with pthalate-free tabac & leather fragrance oil, with hints of coriander, clove, tobacco leaf, leather and toasted oak.

Ingredients:  Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Water, Sodium Hydroxide, Shea Butter, Avocado Oil, Pine Tar, Cocoa Butter, Castor Oil, Pure Pthalate Free Fragrance Oil, Colloidal Oats,  Kaolin Clay,

About sodium hydroxide (lye):  All true soap is made when a chemical reaction occurs (saponification) between sodium hydroxide and the oils/butters being mixed together.  This process is complete after about 48 hours, at which point, no sodium hydroxide remains in the soap.  Even though sodium hydroxide is not in the end product, it is listed, as it is used to make the soap.
